Text

MICR510 uses Scientific Integrity : An Introductory Text with Cases (2nd edition) as a required textbook. It is available in the MCV Campus Bookstore. The text should be brought to each class as it contains cases that will be discussed during each of the sessions.

This text has been adopted at approximately 30 other institutions for use in responsible conduct courses. The text largely reflects the content of the course, and contains short cases, extended cases, and class surveys. Information about the text including a sampling of its published reviews may be found at the publisher’s WEB site.

Short Cases

In addition to cases in the text, there may cases available for student selection on this WEB site. These may be found under "Links to Short Cases"  and are arranged by categories corresponding to the session topics. For the session on the VCU Honor System cases for discussion are found exclusively on the WEB site. Some other sessions will have cases on the WEB site as well as at the end of the chapters in the text.

Cases take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete discussion, so the leaders should have selected 3 cases for discussion. In a few instances, specific cases will be assigned by the instructor to the case leaders.
