Electronic Résumés from Advanced Résumé Concepts Here is an example of a scannable résumé (sometimes called an ASCII résumé) and an example its traditional counterpart. "Guidelines for Creating a Scannable Résumé" from AT&T contains the standard advice. This site has been a dynamic, thorough, and reliable source over the last several years that I have checked on it. It contains step-by-step tutorial sections on ASCII, HTML, Web, Keyword, and Scannable Résumés, including instructions on how to post your résumé. It also has a list of online résumé and recruitment services. Be sure to read "Byte-able Résumés: Résumés that Computers Can Sink Their Teeth Into." This corporate site has an extensive interactive "career profiler" that you should work your way through.
