Policies:

Attendance Policy:
Attendance and timeliness are mandatory for this course.  There are absolutely no excused absences.  In accordance with departmental policy, if you miss more than nine classes, you are ineligible to pass the course.  If, for some reason, you must miss a class, please let me know in advance or tell me as soon as you are aware of the situation.  I highly appreciate open communication.

Late Work:
I will accept no late work.  Please see me before a problem arises.

Plagiarism
and Academic Integrity:
As a class, we will concern ourselves throughout the semester with learning proper methods of documentation and citation.  As an individual, you are responsible for adhering to all other regulations in the University Honor Code.  You will be asked to complete, sign, and turn in the "English 200 Agreement" on page 129 of The Guide.  In doing so, you indicate that you understand the English Department's attendance policies and VCU's academic integrity policies, and that you agree to abide by them.  You should, therefore, read pages 125-126 with care.

Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 require VCU to provide
academic adjustments of accommodations for students with documented disabilities.  Students who believe they might qualify for adjustments or accommodations must self-identify with the coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities, Dr. Shyla Ipsen (828-1139) sipsen@saturn.vcu.edu on the Academic Campus.  After meeting with the coordinator, students are encouraged to meet with their instructors to discuss their needs.
