Contact I created this site for a graduate class at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. I received a master's degree from its School of Mass Communications in December 2001. I have been a reporter and editor at daily and weekly newspapers since 1976. Currently, I am a full-time reporter at the (Fredericksburg) Free Lance-Star, where I have worked for 16 years. In my career, I have covered a number of different beats, from government and higher education to police and courts. Currently, I cover health and medicine. For five years, I was an adjunct instructor in journalism at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg. Please write if you have a comment or question about the site.
