honor policy

Because your work will be, in many ways, collaborative, there are important integrity issues for you to consider. You should not copy or print anyone's work from the computer without their permission. Whenever you use material from another source, including student papers, you must document clearly, whether you are quoting directly, summarizing, or paraphrasing. In other words, respect the work of others and in no way present it as your own.

For the credibility of the information you provide in your website and other electronic work in this course, it is imperative that every source be documented accurately.  (Failing to document correctly, even if it is careless oversight, will seriously affect your final grade.)

You are responsible for adhering to all regulations of the University Honor Code and to the VCU Computer Ethics Policy).

There is a basic rule from the Honor Code that ALWAYS applies: Plagiarize (copy from a textbook or off the Web, turn in someone else's work as your own, hand in a purchased paper or one downloaded off the Internet, copy from sources without properly documenting the source, etc.) and you fail. Period. If you have any questions about this code in a collaborative environment, bring it up for a discussion of the issues involved.
