Following is an annotated list of
web sites that we might call "informational sites." Their inclusion here
is for our discussion and critique in order that we may continue to refine our definition
of the "genre." Inclusion in the list in no way implies an endorsement of the
site as a model for all the evaluative criteria we are using. In fact, you may learn from
examining these sites that there are many features that you can improve upon, including
the amount and quality of the content.
This list is the responsibility of all class members.

Site
Sara Herbert found this site, which is devoted to the
life, literature, and times of John Milton. It is a multimedia site with audio links to
some of Milton's poetry, as well as links to his works, scholarly articles; the site
contains a list-serv and the beginnings of an online bibliography. --ejc
Jane
Austen Information Page
This site contains much actual text of Jane Austen's
writing (some of it with hypertextual annotations), critical articles, biography, and
bibliography. --ejc
Anna
Akhmatova Page
This site includes biographical and historical information
about Akhmatova, some of her poetry, photographs, some video clips, and a semi-annotated
set of links to other sites related to Anna and her work. --ejc

Morrison Page
This site includes summaries and commentaries of
Morrison's works, links to biographies, bibliography, and a page promoting her books for
sale. --ejc
