Dipping is the way to go if you want full coverage. Immerse the pot for a few seconds and repeat with variation if you want layering.

Pouring is useful for glazing interiors, for pots are too big to dip, and for specific decorative effects.

Painting is ideal for decoration, but be sure to have high quality brushes that won't shed their bristles (found at your pottery supply store)

Stamping is an organic way to create pattern or achieve effects

Trailing is useful for decoration as the
glaze is "trailed" using whatever suits your fancy (turkey basters, spoons, slip trailer, etc.)

Spraying is more complicated and hazardous. The glaze needs to be meshed through a 120 screen. You must use a vented spray booth specifically for this purpose that conforms to FDA health & safety standards.
