hazard description- toxic, harmful by inhalation or ingestion, danger of cumulative effects

physical properties- white or light red powder, soluable (use in fritted form)

acute effects- irritant to skin, mucous membranes, & eyes

symptoms of overexposure- may cause amyotropic lateral sclerosis, bronchial irritation, gastrointestinal distress, vasopharngeal irritation, garlic odor on breath & sweat, metallic taste, pallor, irritability, excessive fatigue, loss of fingernails & hair, pulmonary edema, anemia, & weight loss

do not induce vomiting if ingested

experimental effects- reproductive effects observed in tests on lab animals

mutagenic effects observed in tests on bacteria

possible carcinogen

note- used with cadmium
